November

The mild weather continued, a bonus after the poor summer, and it helped to keep down the fuel bills.  We generally had a quiet month though keeping active, Roger with his bowls commitments and Teresa visiting the spa and swimming pool in Broadway almost daily.

Following the recent arrival of our new suite, the council came to collect the old one.  Sitting in the drive, it seemed too clean and tidy to be sent off to its fate, but, at thirty years old, it broke all the current fire regulations.

On Thursday 12 the sad occasion of the funeral of a neighbour – the first to welcome us to Toddington nine years ago and who every year hosted a pre-Christmas party for close neighbours.  The service was in St Andrew’s Church followed by snacks in the village hall.

Jay brought Fizzy home for a few days so it could have its MOT, but otherwise kept pretty busy in Oxford at work and at the ice-rink.  Teresa visited her there a few times.
