March
A difficult month at Darkes
Farm. On Friday 2, Hazel had what the
doctor called a mini-stroke.
Fortunately she has recovered well, and is, if anything, slightly more
capable than before.
On Monday 5, Roger was told
by the doctor he had had a heart attack at some time in the past – but probably
early this year, when the chest pain which prompted the consultation was first
noticed. He awaits further tests at the
hospital. Serious exertion is off the
menu for the time being.
On Friday 23, Teresa was
admitted to hospital with acute stress symptoms, after being unwell at home for
several days. The stay was short and
she was back at home after three days of successful treatment.
Meanwhile, Juliet had the
ordeal of a formal assessment at her Saturday violin course (GAMPA), followed
later in the month by her Grade 6 Associated Boards Violin exam, achieving a
Pass with Merit.
The good news is that the
application to erect a mobile phone mast in the next field has been refused
planning permission.
