May

The outdoor bowling season got under way, albeit enduring a few heavy showers, and Roger played in half-a-dozen matches in addition to the usual club roll-ups.  In a Bank Holiday Fun Day for club members at the end of the month, he was lucky enough to be in the winning team.  The bowling was followed by a ‘bring-and-share’ tea, to which Teresa contributed a large plate of sandwiches and some chocolate brownies.

Juliet’s Saturday orchestra finished its term with a mini concert for parents and more ‘bring-and-share’ food -  we took mainly pork pies, carrots and crisps, all quickly devoured by the hungry teenagers.

Jay managed a pass in her Grade 8 violin exam last month, which was probably commensurate with the amount of serious practice she put in.

But Jay’s real passion remains her riding, to which she goes twice a week.  Apart from the lessons themselves, Jay reads anything and everything about horses, and is amassing a heap of memorabilia, including a photo album of all the horses she has ridden.  Teresa also took her to watch a couple of local shows.
