April

Helen visited at the beginning of the month:  our local church visit this time was to Dumbleton.

Jay had a fortnight off school for Easter, and we arranged several days’ additional riding for her, plus a hack in the country accompanied by Teresa:  click here for a report.

Roger’s bowling club opened its rink on 18 April – to a torrential downpour which prevented any play.  By the end of the month, games rained off still exceeded games played.

Tempted by a Rover spring sale, we decided to upgrade Rovy.  This may have seemed ungrateful, as it had given no trouble and was running well, but we have kept cars too long in the past.

Farewell Rovy

The new car is another Rover 45, silver grey, and with some of the extras that Rovy lacked – though not in the performance department I hasten to add.

On the last day of the month, new neighbours moved into the house next door, though we have not met them as yet.  The sale had taken about three months to go through.
